The topic
An MVP, or minimum viable product, is the smallest version of your idea that real people can use and tell you something true about. Vibe coding is wonderful for this, and a trap for the same reason: because adding features is nearly free, it's easy to keep going until the MVP is no longer minimal.
The short answer
Choose one problem for one kind of person, write down what "done" looks like in a sentence, build only the steps needed to solve that problem, put it in front of real users within days, and let what they do (not what they say) decide what comes next. Stop adding features before you've learned from the first version.
The longer answer
Start with the problem
"A habit tracker" is a product. "Help freelancers see which clients are late paying" is a problem. Write the problem and the person in one sentence. If you can't, you're not ready to build.
Define done
Write one sentence: "A user can ___ and ___, and that's enough to be useful." Everything outside that sentence waits.
Build the thinnest slice
One path through the app from start to useful result. No settings page, no admin area, no second theme. If it's hard to use, add polish later. If it's missing a feature, only add it when two users ask.
Use the AI in small steps
Ask for one screen or one behaviour at a time, run it, and keep a snapshot after every step that works. Ask it to explain what it built. This keeps the app something you can still change next week.
Put it in front of people early
A few days, not months. Share with five to ten people in your target group, ideally while watching them use it. Where do they hesitate? What did they expect that wasn't there?
Decide with evidence
If people come back and use it, improve it. If they don't, that's a result, not a failure, and it cost you a weekend rather than a year. Change the problem, the audience, or stop.
Before real users arrive
Even an MVP needs the basics once strangers use it: private keys, a privacy policy if you collect data, and a backup. They take an afternoon.
